History
-How? Why? The African Wild Ass became endangered due to excessive hunting mostly by Native Somalis and Ethiopians, and by the destruction of its natural habitat. They are hunted for food and for traditional medicine in both Ethiopia and Somalia (Wikipedia) the major threat to the African Wild Ass is hunting for food and medicinal purposes; for example, body parts and soup made from bones are used for treating tuberculosis, constipation, rheumatism, backache, and bone ache (Kebede 1999; Moehlman 2002; Moehlman et al. in press).
-When? In the 1980s the African Wild Ass became endangered, its natural habitat in Somalia and Ethiopia as hugely diminished. It currently has the tag of critically endangered. In 1986 the African Wild Ass became endangered, and ten years later in 1996 it had the tag of critically endangered, with less than 570 individuals found in the wild (Iucn red List)
-Where? The African Wild Ass current natural habitat is found in Eritrea, Somalia, and Ethiopia. 400 individuals are believed to survive in Eritrea, fewer than 160 in Ethiopia, and fewer than 10 in Somalia. Others can be found in Zoos, about 150 individual Somali wild asses living in zoos around the globe, the most common Zoo where African Will Asses can be found is in Zoo Basel where 36 have been born in captivity.
-Importance in living world: The African Wild Ass can be seen only as another specie of Asses, but what people don’t know is that the African Wild Ass is the ancestor of all modern donkey and subspecies of Wild Asses. A study made by the University of Florida found that all genes and mutations of modern Asses and donkeys could be traced directly and finally to the African Wild Ass (Braun). If this specie is lost, information that could help to find the missing links in Evolution could be lost forever. We have to pay more attention to this animal, and save it from extinction.

Areas of Interaction
- In this project I learned best by organizing my time, and method of researching and creating the webpage. I know that this project will help me on the future as the base, or example of making new projects. I can communicate my understanding by helping others on this project, or my helping in them in the future with other projects. My research was done effectively by reading and learning from many webpages and then joining all the information and ideas into one document. I organized my time with my partner in days, we had to achieve a part of the project each day and at the end it worked fine and with no mistakes. I hope we could do more of these projects, mostly creating websites and researching to apply my knowledge and even learn more on the topic. In the making of this project I learned many ideas to improve and know on what Environment we live at. We live in an environment rules by humans, and only think on us, we should always think on the other creatures and animals, think on the impact we could cause and the continue our plans and activities. We should help the world heal, we should help species endangered continues their life with no obstacles created by us and our activities. The topic I learned the best on this project was on why species become endangered. I learned that most of 90% of al species that become extinct are because of human impact in their habitat and life. This had an impact on me and my partner, we realized that we should help the wildlife, and consequently help our environment, because every specie makes up something on our life.
